Samuel Vera (Crazee Comics), one of the great indie creators I met at the 2nd Annual Indie After Party at NYCC last year, got some national TV exposure on American Latino TV. He's been making the rounds all over, actually. You can check out more appearances here.
I'm hoping to go to make it to the 3rd annual bash, but it might hinge on whether I'm crashing in the city or not...since I was in no state to drive through the tunnel to NJ after that party. ;)
(Editor's Note: I've pulled the American Latino TV clip to use a different clip provided at Samuel Vera's site, pending a response from him regarding the possible legitimacy of the "punkoutlaw" comment here)

Until I receive a direct communication from someone identifiable in an official capacity at LatiNation, LLC, this post will remain up.
ReplyDeleteThe video itself has a tool that gives out the embed code, which only encourages sharing and implies consent to embed elsewhere. The comment posted here doesn't represent any form of official communication, as there is no manner given to verify the legitimacy of claims made.
For the record, I have sent an e-mail to LatiNation to attempt to confirm the veracity of the claims made in the comment.
ReplyDeleteI will pull it down if requested to do so via a professional communication.
That was weird. But yeah, why would a company send you a comment through a "punkoutlaw" blogger account...and aren't you pretty much advertising for them.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I'd think it was real is because why would anyone type up all that as a prank, lol.
That "pretty much advertising" argument is a slippery slope.
ReplyDeleteIf the communication is from them, I have no qualm with their claiming the right to protect their material. It is, however, an unprofessional manner of contacting and putting the blame on someone you used the embed code that the video itself provides.
punkoutlaw is the blog name of the excutive producer of LatiNation? And I thought we were slack in the comic book field!
ReplyDeleteIN a wholly unrelated note, someone should tell google/blogspot that it is stupid to put a line for username and then want the email address.
ReplyDeleteHey guys,
ReplyDeleteI received the same email and was surprised as well. They did say they would have the clip run on ALTV's website. Sorry to all for any inconvenience. The other show producers from KDKA, KUSI, On the Inside radio and Nuff said radio were okay with the promotion. Thanks for posting it though.
