Schwapp Quickie: DOOMSDAY

I'll do a vlog review on this later, but you should really get out and see this movie.

It is ESCAPE FROM NY meets RESIDENT EVIL, to some extent. It might as well have been called ESCAPE FROM GLASGOW, unless that would have brought the bad memories of ESCAPE FROM LA with it.

There are even bits of the soundtrack that are reminiscent (if not a complete rip) from ESCAPE FROM NY.

Great popcorn flick. Fun way to waste a few hours.

    Have to admit I'm fairly surprised you liked this but didn't really like Jumper or Vantage Point.

    See, I actually did enjoy Jumpers and, to some extent, Vantage Point. Jumpers had so much potential squandered and Vantage Point is a movie that really hinged on its twist...which it telegraphed maybe 1/3 of the way into the film.

    Doomsday was greatly helped by my somewhat low expectations and nostalgic feelings for Escape From NY, as well. So we're not talking level playing fields.
