Marvel_b0y = Dan Slott? Nah...

Marvel_b0y is the new blog obsession these days and speculation is rampant as to who it might be. Some are even suggesting Dan Slott. Now...I'm not saying Slott is above an internet alias (or lacks the know-how to pull one off, cuz he doesn't), but I don't think he'd bash as many people as Marvel_b0y has (over what? professional jealousy?) or pretend to be Steve Wacker (why? because of some editorial disagreement?).

By the way...I'm trying to search for anything I can find to figure out what this guy's previous LiveJournal account was, but can't find it at all.

  2. It's still early in the whole conspiracy theory. That and I live in southeastern Virginia. At the least, I'd need an accomplice who is on site. ;)

  3. Oh...and for the record...I'm pretty much a mark for any work done by Matt Fraction. Even if he wasn't, he looks too similar to a friend (and former colleague of mine), Michael C. Lorah, for me to ever wish him ill. So Marvel_b0y could not be me.

  4. Man, that really sucks.

    First they killed Black Goliath.
    Then they killed Captain America.
    Now they've killed Marvel_b0y.

  5. Wow...I have the touch. I link to a blog and it goes bye-bye. First, Val's promotion of the Calvin Ayre vanity piece and now Marvel_b0y. Did he get scared at my saying I was trying to find out who he was? :p Maybe it was Slott after all?

  6. Either the person was confronted or he/she got really scared off by the cease and desist order.

    There's a real story here, but we'll probably never find out what really happened ... What a time for Rich Johnston to take a sabbatical!

  7. His most recent post was last night. If contacted directly by Marvel, I highly doubt that they would have given him a "delete the blog and then we're square...you keep your job" solution.

    I'm thinking that LJ just got a legal follow-up from Marvel that led them to close down the account, despite what the reactivation message said on the deleted journal.

It is preferred that you sign some sort of name to your posts, rather than remain completely anonymous. Even if it is just an internet nickname/alias, it makes it easier to get to know the people that post here. I hope you all will give it some consideration. Thank you.
