There Should Be No Surrender On Minority Issues In Comics

Cheryl Lynn has waved the white flag on the Vixen issue. Forgive me, but I want to Godfather-III her back into that fight.

Look, I'm sure Racialicious will keep up the good fight. As will Willow and 4thletter.

But we want Cheryl Lynn on that wall. We need her on that wall.

She's one of the most articulate on the subject and always brings her disarming sense of humor along with her. If you don't like what she writes, you can't handle the truth.

  1. Frankly, I'm sick to death of talking about Vixen.

  2. Dude, me too. I'm through. And not the James Brown I'm-Gonna-Throw-This-Cape-Off-And-Tear-It-Up-As-Soon-As-My-Band-Calls-Me kind of through either. Like the Please-Y'all-Stop-Linking-Me kind of through. I'm not going to pull down my old posts, 'cause that would be a straight punk move, but there's really no point in taking it any further. It's just agitating people instead of sparking any kind of positive change.

  4. I don't know. I think agitation is a necessary component in effecting change. Just because the voice of the agitated is loudest right now doesn't mean that you're not reaching a lot of people.

I won't link to any more of your blogs on the subject, Cheryl. If you want the existing links killed, just let me know.

And I'll take the blame, Pedro. It's the least I can do after spoiling stuff for you earlier in the week. ;)

  5. Isn't Vixen just an Animal Man knock off? The difference being that she seems to be based on Halle Berry and she doesn't wear a leather jacket.

  6. Not really. There's some similarity in powers between the two, but many more differences to make up for it. And she was never Halle Berry until this Justice League run, IMO. Not even on JLU.

It is preferred that you sign some sort of name to your posts, rather than remain completely anonymous. Even if it is just an internet nickname/alias, it makes it easier to get to know the people that post here. I hope you all will give it some consideration. Thank you.
