Yeah, What The Hell ARE You Wearing, Raven?

My God. Who thought Titans #2 could drag things down even lower than the first issue managed?

It starts with the opening page:

Ummm...I don't believe the character bible for Argent has her being this busty. Of course, maybe it is just the bondage somehow forcing more blood to flow to her breasts, inflating them artificially.

It continues in further panels.

Of course, maybe there's just some chemical in the air from the villain's lair that makes all women who breathe it more ditzy and busty:

Winick, Churchill, and Benitez have really outdone themselves with these first two issues...

  1. OMG, Starfire has never had large breasts!!! Or dressed provocatively, WTF!!! As for the rest, dunno, this book sucks anyways.

  2. I don't know how I managed to say that.

No, really...I don't know how...can you point out how I managed to criticize Starfire's appearance there? Her talking about hairstyles at a moment like that was, however, ditzy.

  3. You sure that's not from an issue of BOMB QUEEN?

  4. Well I remember when Jubilee went from being flat chested by Silvestri to having a pair of two gigantic melons under Liefeild. So this is nothing new

  5. Worst. Comic. Book. Ever.

Thing is I thought Titans #1 was some kind of all time low, this was laughable... this was so bad, I had a hard time enjoying Green Arrow Black Canary, I think Winick may have jumped the shark.

  6. So, Argent's into autoerotic asphyxiation. Good to know!

Man, Beneitez must get some REALLY INTERESTING commission requests.

  7. The only thing that could redeem this book is if they are purposely are taking an over-the-top/humor angle on the book that was not previously announced. I'm thinking JLI times 10 with T&A thrown in, to boot.

Mind you, I still wouldn't like it...but at least then it would seem like less of a clusterfuck because it was intentionally done like this.

  8. To be honest, I skipped this cause the Titans East special was so sucky.

  9. This comic is pretty bad, but it's worth noting that Titans had a lot of "fan service" back in the day. Just speaking as someone who was in my midteens when I read it back then, it's something I remember. ;)

Some of this might be the writer and artist's attempts at conveying that part of the book's appeal as kind of a shout out to days gone by. And then failing miserably of course, because neither of them are Marv Wolfman or George Perez.

  10. I always thought that Starfire was pretty much the embodiment of all the fan service in Teen Titans back in the day. There at least was a character driven reason for it (that, as an alien, she didn't get human hangups about the naked body). This shit is just comical. ;)

  11. Raven in the first pannel... looks kind of unhealthy... >.<

  12. Well...don't most comic book women? :) But yeah...plenty on both the T&A curves, but I believe you can see some rib cage poking out. Not healthy.
