The song they chose for the commercials and trailers for Pineapple Express has really invaded all my brain space right now. But it isn't actually on the soundtrack!!! That's happening too damn much these days.
So I thought I'd help bring it to anyone else reading the site that digs it:
Yeah...that's an ad that seems to be masquerading as content. I swear I'm doing this more for how much I dug the song and the movie (review coming tomorrow), not for the money.

As soon as I saw the 'redband' trailer for this days ago I was hooked on that damn song - I'd never heard it before then. I immediately downloaded it. And we're not alone. At the college I attend kids are raving about it. Friends of mine who are out of college (30 year olds even) are also raving about it. It's just so damn hypnotic.
ReplyDeleteI'm 33 (and ashamed of it), but I still can't get that song out of my head. Such a shame they didn't put it on the actual soundtrack, though.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It's like the song and the movie were born to be together like a Reese's peanut butter cup. I'm 36 and I listen to 'Paper Planes' walking to class. By the way, M.I.A. is of Sri Lankan descent. So I tell people I'm listening to Sri Lankan gangsta rap to 1.) sound edgy and 2.) further establish my street cred as "hardcore."
ReplyDeleteHeh...I hadn't thought of using that factoid to enhance my cool. I'm going to have to Twitter that now.
